Drik ICT History

1993
Drik ICT established and commenced operations as an Offline Internet service provider.

1994
The company extended its services commercially from February 1994.

2002
Commenced operations as an Internet Service Provider registered with the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) in the name of Drik Alokchitra Granthagar Ltd.

2011
The license upgraded by BTRC enabling Drik ICT to provide both Internet and Data communication services nationwide.

Our Infrastructure

Drik ICT’s Network operations are currently located at key Dhaka city points such as Gulshan, Banani, Motijheel, Uttara, Moghbazar, with its. State-of-the-art Data Center located at Dhanmondi.

The immediate goal for Drik ICT Ltd. to reach all six Divisions within the next quarter of 2011. This will be increased gradually to extend the Network within the country:

• Data Center (DC) = 01
• Disaster Recovery (DR) = 01
• Core PoP = 15
• Access / Distribution PoP = 80

Each of these PoP will be facilitate with:
• 2 to 3 layer of backbone redundancy
• 2 to 3 layer of Power backup
• Hardware redundancy
• Decentralized Human resource management

Social Responsibilities

Drik’s social commitment is central to its work ethos. While its professional team making up the library, darkroom, studio, gallery and publication, multimedia and Internet departments provides state of the art media products for an international clientele, it also provides support for its network of creative individuals around the world who challenge western media hegemony.
Its training program range from providing education for working class children to training the region’s brightest young photojournalists through Pathshala, its education wing, where top professionals from Magnum, National Geographic, Time, Contact Press Images and other leading media organizations make up the visiting faculty. The launch of the first festival of photography in Asia, Chobi Mela, and Drik Partnership, a global conglomerate consisting of some of the most innovative organizations in Asia, Africa and Europe, will ensure that the majority world continues to carve out a space for itself in world media.
